The 18th Annual Meeting of the NRAA’s Board of Directors
The NRAA’s Board of Directors held today its eighteenth annual meeting for the year 2021, headed by His Excellency Salem bin Mohammed Al-Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Records and Archives Authority, in the presence of Their Excellencies members of the Board of Directors. During the meeting, the members were introduced with Electronic Documents and Records Management System project (Wosool), which is one of the most important national projects led by the National Records and Archives Authority in the Sultanate of Oman. The Board also reviewed the detailed plan for building the EDRMS in its first phase and approved the plan in the second phase that will cover 46 additional entity and its implementation timeline, starting from January next year, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology. After that, members were acquainted with NRAA’s Integrated Emergency Plan prepared to preserve records from different risks to ensure records are stored in an appropriate environment that provides security and safety.
Wosool Project
The Wosool project seeks to provide a system for managing electronic documents and records that provides all features needed to manage the document from the moment it is created until it reaches its final disposition in an ideal manner that complies with the national procedures manual for managing electronic documents and records. This year witnessed the completion of the first phase of development process of Wosool. In fact, this system will enable the beneficiaries of the project to manage their documents and communicate with each other electronically, which is a qualitative leap in government communication and in the digital transformation plans in these entities.
During the meeting, the implementation of the Board’s decisions taken in its previous meetings was followed up and the minutes of the seventeenth meeting was approved. The Board of Directors also reviewed the annual plan of the Authority for the year 2022, and it was approved and prepared to be submitted to the Council of Ministers. In conclusion, the Board of Directors reviewed the presented agenda and took appropriate decisions in the regard.
