A Meeting between the Sultanate of Oman and Mauritania Sides: Highlighting Cooperation in the Historical and Archival Fields

His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dhawyani, Chairman of the National Records and Archives Authority, held today at the Authority’s building a session of talks with His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ishaq Saad Sayed Al-Amin, Assistant Secretary-General of the Mauritanian Government, and his accompanying delegation. During the session, the two sides discussed the means of activating the Memorandum of Understanding in historical and records and archives management fields. Both sides agreed to push cooperation towards enabling the National Records and Archives Authority to obtain records related to the Sultanate of Oman from Mauritania and to work together towards using and benefiting from them in the field of research, studies and conference preparation that highlights the Omani and Mauritanian roles in the cultural and historical aspects. The technical support of building records management system in Mauritania and benefiting from the Sultanate’s experience is one of the most important topics in the discussions between the two sides. In addition, the two sides emphasized to enhance and exchange experiences and training courses that improve the capabilities of both institutions through training in technical means. The session included a review of the two sides’ activities and events and the ways of sharing them.
