The National Records and Archives Authority participates today in the opening of the “First Archivists Forum,” organized by the Middle East College. This event celebrates International Archives Day by discussing the state of training in records management in the Sultanate of Oman, addressing the challenges and necessary proposals to develop and expand the field, and incorporating modern technologies to manage the vast amount of information.
The NRAA’s participation in this event expresses the importance of building and developing the capabilities of workers in the archives field in various units of the state’s administrative apparatus, government companies and private institutions. It also contributes in opening opportunities for cooperation to serve the records and archives sector in the Sultanate of Oman in light of the participation of a wide range of experts and enabling and supportive bodies.
This forum also aims to discuss the training and qualification of specialists, workers and those interested in records and archives sector to raise their productivity and enable them theoretically and practically to carry out archival work, enhance cooperation and exchange of experiences with archival institutions, and learn about the latest updates in the archival practices field.
