NRAA in Cooperation with Ministry of Health Organizes an Orientation Session on Specific Records Management System
NRAA organized an orientation session on Specific Records Management System at Ministry of Health’s building with attendance of H.E. Darweesh Al-Muharbi, undersecretary at Ministry of Health and H.E. Dr. Hamad Al-Dhawyani, NRAA’s chairman. After welcoming NRAA’s attendance, H.E. the undersecretary expressed his appreciation of NRAA’s efforts in building a modern documents and records management system and showed ministry’s full preparedness and cooperation with NRAA toward achieving the records management system.
H.E. Dr. Al-Dhawyani explained the NRAA’s roles in building modern documents and records management systems in various concerned units in the Sultanate and affirmed on the importance of preserving records of individuals and government to ensure the documentation of the achievements of this country and to serve as a national memory for future generations.
In this regard, Hamad Al-Saadi, assistant director of technical follow-up affairs, gave a presentation on a working action of building a record system, stages and approved methodology. Hisham Al-Ruwshdi, systems analyst at NRAA, also delivered a presentation on EDREMS (Electronic Documents & Records Management System) that is targeted to all governmental units subject to Records and Archives Law. In this presentation, Al-Ruwshdi touched upon several points including security features charactering such records management systems.
Worth mentioning that NRAA has completed about 46 governmental units in term of preparation of the procedural tools (Classification schemes and retention schedules) and now endeavoring to provide a technical support and follow-up to these units.
