23 January، 2022The National Records and Archives Authority signed today the minutes of the joint meeting between the Sultanate of Oman and the Syrian Arab Republic, within the framework of a session of discussions in the field of records, archives, historical studies and cultural aspects between the two countries. H.H Dr. Hamad Al-Dhawyani, Chairman of NRAA, and Buthaina Shaaban, Political and Media Adviser to the Syrian President and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Watan Document Foundation, signed the minutes in the presence of H.H Dr. Bassam Al Khatib, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Sultanate. The minutes included the aspects of cooperation between the two sides, frameworks for benefiting from the experiences in the two countries, and promoting cooperation in obtaining records related to the Sultanate of Oman from institutions and authorities in the Syrian Arab Republic. It also foster seeking to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Authority and the concerned authorities in Syria. According to the minutes, the two sides shall consider the possibility of implementing a conference and two exhibitions in the field of records and archives, benefiting from the experiences of the two countries in the field of records management systems, providing technical training and workshops that should enhance capabilities and skills of working staff.
