National Records and Archives Authority issued Part VIII of “Researches and Studies in the National and International Archives”
National Records and Archives Authority issued Part VIII of Researches and Studies in the National and International Archives entitled “Islamic Civilization and the Omani Role in Linguistic, Literary and Cultural Dimensions in East Africa and the African Great Lakes Countries” in two languages, Arabic and English. The first chapter discuses Omani role in spreading Islamic civilization and culture in East Africa and the African Great Lakes Countries. The second and third chapters of the book display Omani role in in linguistic, literary and cultural dimensions in the above mentioned area.
This book focuses on highlighting Omani bright history in East Africa through researches and studies series on national and international documents. These researches and studies are written by professors and researchers specializing in cultural, historical, economic, social and cultural fields and written to reveal to us important historical events in the east coast of Africa and Great Lakes countries. Writers used documents from NRAA and other international archives as references for their researches and studies to be presented at conferences organized by NRAA in East Africa or in the Sultanate of Oman.
This book will be available for readers at Muscat Book Fair 2016 in NRAA’s section along with other releases published by NRAA. Furthermore, NRAA will also display a collection of records, manuscripts, coins and stamps to audience.
Al-Dhawyani states that publishing this series aims at stressing NRAA’s role to highlight Oman culture, civilization and history that enrich human civilization in different eras. NRAA also seeks to provide universities and research establishments with sources and references that assist researchers and students in their studies.
