24 March، 2016A Course on Housekeeping Records Management System at PACA
NRAA represented by the Department of Follow-up & Technical Support gave a three-day training course to the staff of PACA from 13th to 15th March 2016. This program comes in the framework of implementing the plan of building modern records management system to all concerned bodies stated by the law of records and archives promulgated by the royal decree No. 60/2007, stating that the NRAA shall oversees its application.
The course delivered by Ishaq Al Suqri, quality assurance director and in charge of technical support at NRAA explores several topics; namely, the law of records and archives and the authority responsible to its implementation, most important terms in records management field, modern records management system and its advantages , classification scheme and its goals, housekeeping records management system, a process of assigning titles and proper classification codes to files, retention periods for preserving files and records in current and intermediate periods, and identifying of its final disposition either by migrating them to NRAA for permanent preserving or destroying them.
The program was attended by around 30 employees whose job related to files and records management in various administrative and technical divisions of PACA.
This course aimed at raising the capabilities of personnel in identifying the proper title for any file created in the course of conducting tasks and activities in different divisions. These divisions include the offices of ministers, undersecretary, chairpersons, directors-general, PR and information, security and safety, planning, organization, studies, international relations, mail and records, information technology as well as topics related to HR, financial and physical sources.
The program is concluded by giving a practical test to all the participants regarding the topics covered in this course.
The participants also are briefed on the importance of preserving of records and efforts of NRAA in different aspects related to records and archives.
