11 February، 2016NRAA has participated in the advanced training program on the detection of false historical records, organized by King Abdulaziz House from 18th to 19th of January in KSA. The program aimed at training the candidates on the required skills to detect various forgeries and counterfeits, to identify the features of both true and false signatures, the components of record and to be familiar with the writing materials and tools. It also gave a brief on font types, signature patterns and handwriting fonts usually used in writing such records. The trainees also learned the theoretical and practical methods and modern technologies that are used in detecting manipulations and alterations in the historical records.
This specialized program sought to improve the technical aspect in detecting both tangible and intangible forgery in records and documents. And to achieve its objectives, its sessions were based on a number of themes; namely, the development of documents examination science, the numerous ways of forgery and the possible protection methods, state-of-art equipment that are used in examining documents and manuscripts and estimating their lifespan, the aspects of securing records and documents, the ways of documents reproduction and the methods of detection. This training was oriented to officials and managers in charge of library, records and manuscripts as well as archivists and technicians working in manuscripts, records and restoration departments, and to different types of archival centers, libraries of both government and private sectors, and the owners of private library and manuscripts.
