Al-Dhawyani opens the training session to explain National Procedures’ Manual of Electronic Records Management
His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dhawyani, Chairman of NRAA, opened the five days training session to explain “EDRMS Procedures’ Manual” at the Institute of Islamic Sciences in Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque from 6th to 10th March 2016. This session is organized by NRAA and targets governmental bodies involved in the second phase of the EDRMS project. More than 140 employees representing 43 governmental bodies working in information technology and records management fields attended the session. This training session aims at explaining EDRMS Procedures’ Manual, concepts and basics of electronic documents and records management and classification system along with other related topics. It also discusses technical details related to the security aspect and to electronic signature and its association with the issue of electronic records management.
H.E Dr. Al-Dhawyani stated in his opening speech that NRAA will continue organizing such courses and conferences to spread knowledge on the importance of electronic records and correspondence management system. Al-Rushdi, system analyst at NRAA and a lecturer in the session, clarified that this training session was organized as NRAA’s continuous efforts to spread knowledge on records management system. throughout the five days of the session, many topics was discussed to understand the idea of EDRMS procedures’ manual and to explain best practices related to records management system. Al-Rashidiah, system analyst at NRAA and a lecturer in the session, explained that the second part of EDRMS procedures’ manual discusses the proper mechanism for creating and capturing records and how to register and circulate them among sections and departments.
