Oman’s Relationship with the Countries of the Indian Ocean and the Gulf from the Seventeenth
to the Nineteenth Century
The conference aims to examine Oman’s relationships with the countries of the Indian Ocean and the Gulf, including in-depth study of the region’s political, economic, social, civilizational, and cultural history. This includes elements of unity among the territories, and the richness of diversity in their communities, and the continuous change in the customs and traditions, which enriched the population coexistence of cultural and urban life. This confirms the mutual view between the Sultanate of Oman and the countries of the Indian Ocean and the Gulf, which highlights these aspects and the embodiment of this relationship, the continuation, the development of communication, and brotherhood. This has resulted in having strong family ties between these communities. This also highlights the cultural interaction in drawing paths for relationships between Oman and the countries of the Indian Ocean and the Gulf.
Therefore, the National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA), Sultanate of Oman, decided to organize this international conference to review the march of history and culture of Oman and the countries of the Indian Ocean and the Gulf. By searching for the roots and references of historical evolution, history is a repository of experience, which reveals facts that one must make full use of. Indeed, this can be realized by resorting to original references and sources, in an effort to write a comprehensive history that is based on a thorough scientific approach. Due to the lack of references and research findings in Arabic and foreign libraries, as well as the lack of awareness of the Omani presence and its contributions to these areas, and the fear of the absence of the Omani cultural and historic achievements, the need for compiling such heritage has been felt. Therefore, this conference will focus on presenting research papers that examine parts of the cultural aspects of Oman and its humanitarian contributions to human civilization in these areas. It will also be an important asset that highlights this significant part of history, investigated by scholars and researchers from different parts of the world.

Basic Form
APA (American Psychological Association) style is most commonly used to cite sources within the social sciences, such as history, geography, political science, literature and linguistics.
APA style dictates that authors are named last name followed by initials; publication year goes between parentheses, followed by a period. The title of the article is in sentence-case, meaning only the first word and proper nouns in the title are capitalized. The periodical title is run in title case, and is followed by the volume number which, with the title, is also italicized. If a digital object identifier (DOI) has been assigned to the article that you are using, you should include this after the page numbers for the article. If no DOI has been assigned and you are accessing the periodical online, use the URL of the website from which you are retrieving the periodical.
Author, A. A., Author, B. B., & Author, C. C. (Year). Title of article. Title of Periodical, volume number (issue number), pages.
Article in Journal Paginated by Volume
Journals that are paginated by volume begin with page one in issue one, and continue numbering issue two where issue one ended, etc.
