2 June، 2018The Sultanate and Spain Singned an archives agreement (Muscat/ April 30)
The Sultanate and the Kingdom of Spain signed the Archives Memorandum at the Alalam Alaamir Palace.
During the visit of his Majesty King Juan Carlos I, King of the Kingdom of Spain to the Sultanate an agreement was signed by both the National Records and Archives Authority headed by His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Mohammad Al-Dhoyani and the Spanish Authority for Archives headed by His Excellency Gonzalo Dibinito Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain Kingdom. His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Mohammad Al-Dhoyani head of the National Records and Archives Authority said that this agreement enables the authority to get documents for the Sultanate and Spain joint history. Indicating that the authority had already signed a similar paper with the Spanish National Office. He concluded by praising the effort the authority to retrieve any documents belonging to the Sultanate.
He told the Omani News Agency that this agreement will strengthen cooperation between the Spanish National Archives and Documents Body and the Omani authority to exchange experiences and training workshops and to organize scientific conferences and do researches to exploit these documents and to make them available to researchers and scholars. He added that the agreement will be soon activated and they will work with the Spanish National Library which is loaded with Omani documents dating back to the 16th century.
