
The adoption of the PrivateRecords’ Management System by the Ministry of Legal Affairs on 6/6/2012
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Mohamed A’Saadi minister of Legal Affairs adopted the procedural tools for the Private Documents’ Management System at the headquarter of the ministry in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Mohammad Al-Dhouyeni head of the National Records and Archives Authority.
His Excellency minister of Legal Affairs after signing the convention said that the records represent Omani’s national history and must be saved according to technical and scientific ways. He appreciated the major efforts the authority has been doing for this purpose and stated that the ministry of Legal Affairs is the source of all laws’ legislations. These procedural tools for Records’ Management System consist mainly of preparing tables and private documents’ nominal lists at the Ministry of Legal Affairs. These procedural tools represent a pillar in building a modern system according to the latest international specifications and standards for Records’ classification and registration. This system can be adopted and implemented at all administrative levels for a better organization and a quick access to documents as well as an ease of retrieval of all documents. The system when applied will also guarantee high quality of administrative work. The goals behind system implementation are to achieve proper conservation of documents and security, help to improve the image of administration and preserve the rights and interests of individuals and society. Once this system is adopted, the norms of documents management system will be applied in all administrations working according to the Documents and Archives law. Thus, declaring the birth of a new stage of work and organization.
