His Excellency Dr. Nabil Elaraby the Secretary- General of the Arab States League and His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Adouyani, head of the Arab Regional Branch for the Archives International Council ” Arbeka ,” signed an agreement to strengthen the efforts of the two parties to preserve and maintain archive and documents. And to carry out all the programs between the Arab league and the Arab regional conferences such as organizing seminars and documentary exhibitions inside Arab countries, organizing international workshops outside the Arab world , exchanging ,visits , experts and scientific researches that were agreed upon during the visit that Al-Dhoyani paid to Cairo about Palestine in the Arabic Documents . The memorandum also states that both sides should work to protect and keep copies of the important documents and archives related to the Arab countries that had been exposed to conflicts and wars and to support the Arab Regional Branch and the Archives International Council to retrieve stolen documents. The Arab League Council recommended the following measures to be taken. First, the provision of technical, moral and political support to the regional branch in its works at regional and international levels to maintain and preserve national memory for documents and archives representing the Arab nations and their identities. Second, urge states members to join the Arab Regional Branch of the International Archives and engage in its work and activities, . Finally, establish a small committee representing the Arab States League secretariat, the Arab League for Education, culture and science (AlESCO) and the Regional Branch Executive Office to prepare an overall strategy to follow moved documents to foreign countries and ways to retrieve or get photocopies. A joint meeting was held between all concerned Arab states in the area of documentation and archives; at the request of the ministerial-level Council of the League to hurry in the preparation of the mini-committee to prepare comprehensive strategy include monitoring Arab documents. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Chairman of the authority and Chairman of Arab Regional Council for International Archives, and representatives of the members of the branch of the Arab League and the Arab League for Education, culture and Science Organization (AlESCO). Celebrating The Arab Day Document, His Excellency Dr. Nabil Elaraby the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and the Deputy Prime Minister and minister of Palestinian Culture, His Excellency the Egyptian Minister of Culture, and representatives of the Arab States League and their Excellencies the Heads of Bodies of Documentary Archives attended a Documentary Exhibition to support the Palestinian issue. He his Excellency Dr. Hamad Bin Mohammad Al-Dhoyani head of the Regional Office of the International Archives Council confirmed in his speech theimportance of States to pay greater attention to documents and how to sustain them for their importance in preserving the memory of the nation.
